WYCKOFF · Introduction

The Wyckoff Method for gold, from the three laws to a complete accumulation and distribution execution system

The Wyckoff Method reads a chart as the work of large operators who accumulate quietly, mark price up, distribute into strength, and mark price down. It is a big-picture method of structures and phases, not a single-bar signal. This course teaches it in order, on gold, with every schematic and event drawn as a candle chart and each idea tied to Wyckoff's three laws. Work through it stage by stage. The whole course is published, so you can read straight through or jump to the module you need.

01

What this course is

A structured path from Richard Wyckoff's first principle, that price and volume reveal the intent of the large operator, to a complete, rules-based way to read and trade XAUUSD. It is not a glossary of terms. Each module builds on the one before, every schematic is shown on a drawn chart, and the course ends with a single checklist you can run on any range. The emphasis throughout is on the two things that make this Wyckoff and not just support-and-resistance trading: the structure of a trading range, and the named events that mark where accumulation or distribution is happening inside it.

One idea, one drawing: a spring below support that closes back insiderange supportrange resistancespringrecoverSOS
Vocabulary is step one; reading the schematic on price is the whole point.
02

How it is organised

Four stages. Foundations sets the premise and the language: what the Wyckoff Method actually claims, the three laws, the composite man, the four-phase cycle and the trading range. Accumulation teaches the bottoming structure in full: the schematic, every event from the preliminary support to the last point of support, and the spring. Distribution teaches the mirror topping structure: the schematic, every event from preliminary supply to the last point of supply, the upthrust and the law of effort versus result. The Execution system makes it tradeable: reaccumulation and redistribution, relative strength, cause-and-effect target counting, entries and stops, and the full system with a final checklist.

The full curriculum

Seventeen modules, each a drawn lesson on gold. The whole course is live, so every module is linked.

The course runs in four stages. Start at Module 1 even if you have traded for years, because Wyckoff is a precise language of ranges and events and the method only becomes repeatable once the terms are exact. The whole course is published, so every module below is a live link.

Foundations

  1. 01. What Is the Wyckoff Method
Richard Wyckoff\'s premise: price and volume reveal the intent of the large operator behind the market.
  2. 02. The Three Wyckoff Laws
Supply and demand, cause and effect, and effort versus result, the base every schematic rests on.
  3. 03. The Composite Man
Read the market as if one operator accumulates, marks up, distributes and marks down.
  4. 04. The Wyckoff Market Cycle
The four phases, accumulation, markup, distribution and markdown, and how they repeat.
  5. 05. Trading Ranges
Where accumulation and distribution happen: the sideways range between support and resistance.

Accumulation

  1. 06. The Accumulation Schematic
The full accumulation structure drawn phase by phase, Phase A through Phase E.
  2. 07. Accumulation Events: PS to LPS
Every event in order: PS, SC, AR, ST, Spring, Test, SOS, LPS and the back-up.
  3. 08. The Spring and Shakeout
The dip below support that closes back inside, the shakeout, and the test that confirms it.

Distribution

  1. 09. The Distribution Schematic
The full distribution structure drawn phase by phase, the mirror of accumulation.
  2. 10. Distribution Events: PSY to LPSY
Every event in order: PSY, BC, AR, ST, UTAD, SOW and the last point of supply.
  3. 11. The Upthrust and UTAD
The poke above resistance that closes back below, and the upthrust after distribution.
  4. 12. Effort versus Result
Reading volume against price range to spot absorption, climaxes and genuine breakouts.

Execution System

  1. 13. Reaccumulation and Redistribution
Ranges inside trends: a pause that continues up, versus one that continues down.
  2. 14. Relative Strength
Comparing gold to the dollar to judge who is really in control at the test.
  3. 15. Cause, Effect and Target Counting
The point-and-figure horizontal count that turns the width of a range into a target.
  4. 16. Entries, Stops and Targets
Where to enter, where the stop belongs, and how to set a target from the schematic.
  5. 17. The Final Wyckoff System
The complete routine and checklist that ties context, range, events and risk together.

How to use it with the live chart

Read a module, then open the free live XAUUSD chart and find one real example of what you just read. One, not ten. Mark the trading range, then watch for the events the module names: a selling climax, a spring, a sign of strength, an upthrust. The auto-drawn structure, levels and zones on the chart are the same supply and demand this course teaches by hand, so you can check your reading against them while you learn to see a schematic in real time.

Q

FAQ

Is this course free?

Yes. Every module is a free article on this site. Read them in order and practise on the live chart by marking ranges and naming the events as they form.

Do I need any paid tools or indicators?

No. Wyckoff is read from candles and volume. A chart that shows price, a volume histogram and a few drawn levels is enough. The live chart here already plots structure and zones if you want to check your own reading, and a simple point-and-figure grid is all the target counting in Module 15 needs.

How is this Wyckoff course different from your VSA course? They both use volume.

They overlap on volume, but they work at different scales, so this is not a repeat. VSA, volume spread analysis, reads individual bars: it asks what one candle's range and volume say about supply and demand on that bar. Wyckoff is the big picture: it reads whole accumulation and distribution schematics, the phases A to E, the named events and the composite man's campaign across a range. Think of VSA as reading single sentences and Wyckoff as reading the whole chapter. They complement each other, and this course stays firmly on the schematics, phases and structure rather than single-bar calls.

Which timeframe is this for?

All of them, because a schematic is fractal and appears on the daily as well as the five-minute. Higher timeframes frame the campaign and the bias; lower timeframes time the entry inside the range. Most examples use H1 and H4 because that is where accumulation and distribution are clearest on gold.

Does the Wyckoff Method guarantee profits?

No, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. This is an educational framework for reading price and volume. It can sharpen when and where you act by telling you whether a range is more likely accumulation or distribution, but outcome depends on risk control, discipline and screen time. The execution stage spends as much effort on stops, sizing and routine as on entries for that reason.
