Why the economic calendar matters for gold

Gold (XAUUSD) is priced in US dollars, so it reacts sharply to anything that changes the outlook for the dollar and interest rates. For that reason this calendar shows US dollar (USD) events only: the interest-rate decision, inflation (CPI and PCE), and the monthly jobs report (Non-Farm Payrolls) are the releases most likely to move gold in seconds. Other countries are filtered out so you only see what actually moves the price.

Many traders avoid entering right at the moment of a release, when spreads widen and price can whip both ways, and instead wait for the reaction to settle. Pair this calendar with the live XAUUSD chart to see how price behaves at your key levels around the news, and read XAUUSD trading hours to know when volume is highest.

Times are shown automatically in your device's local timezone. Forecast and previous values come from the data feed; actual values appear once a release is out.
