Price action for gold, from reading a bare chart to a complete structural execution system
Price action is the practice of reading a chart from price alone: where it has been, where it turned, where it was rejected and where it was accepted. There are no indicators in this course and no secret patterns. There is a vocabulary, a way of marking a chart, and a method of reading the result that you can apply to any gold chart on any timeframe. It is a reading framework, not a signal, and the honest claim is that it tells you what the market has done and where the next decision point is, not what it will do. This course teaches it in order, on gold, with every idea drawn as a candle chart. Work through it stage by stage. The whole course is published, so you can read straight through or jump to the module you need.
What this course is
A structured path from the first principle, that price is the complete public record of buying and selling, to a rules-based way to read and trade XAUUSD from structure alone. It is not a catalogue of pattern names. Each module builds on the one before: swings become structure, structure becomes trend and range, levels become tests, tests become breakouts and pullbacks, and all of it feeds a single execution routine with a checklist at the end. The emphasis throughout is on the two things that separate price action from guessing: a consistent way of marking swing points and levels, and a consistent way of reading how price behaves when it reaches them.
How it is organised
Four stages. Foundations sets the premise and the language: what price action can and cannot tell you, how to read a bare chart, what a swing high and swing low are, and how swings become market structure with higher highs, higher lows, lower highs and lower lows. Structure turns that into state and location: trend versus range and the transitions between them, horizontal support and resistance with role reversal, and the three ways a level is tested. Patterns and levels reads the events that happen at those locations: breakouts and false breakouts, pullbacks and continuation, reversal patterns read as structure, trendlines and channels, and the context that gives a candle meaning. The Execution system makes it tradeable: multi-timeframe reading, the two entry models, stops and targets from structure, and the full routine with a final checklist and journal.
The full curriculum
Sixteen modules, each a drawn lesson on gold. The whole course is live, so every module is linked.
The course runs in four stages. Start at Module 1 even if you have traded for years, because price action only becomes repeatable once the vocabulary is exact: what a swing is, what a break of structure is, what counts as acceptance. The whole course is published, so every module below is a live link.
Foundations
- 01. What Price Action Is, and What It Is Not
Price as the raw record of buying and selling, read without indicators, and the limits of what it can tell you. - 02. Reading a Chart Without Indicators
The clean chart, the order you read it in, and what candle size, speed and wicks reveal before you draw anything. - 03. Swing Highs and Swing Lows
The one definition that everything else is built on, marked consistently on gold, major and minor. - 04. Market Structure: HH, HL, LH, LL
The trend sequence, the break of structure, and the difference between a break and a pullback.
Structure
- 05. Trend, Range and the Transitions
How to tell the two states apart, and how to read the moment one turns into the other. - 06. Support and Resistance
Horizontal levels as zones, how to choose them, and role reversal when a level flips. - 07. How a Level Is Tested
Clean test, wick rejection and acceptance: the three ways price meets a level and what each means.
Patterns and Levels
- 08. Breakouts and False Breakouts
What a genuine break looks like, the anatomy of a failed one, and how to read the first pullback after either. - 09. Pullbacks and Continuation
Healthy and unhealthy pullbacks, where they tend to end, and what continuation looks like when it resumes. - 10. Reversal Patterns Read Structurally
Double tops, double bottoms and head and shoulders as structure events, not shapes to memorise. - 11. Trendlines and Channels
Drawing them honestly, what a break of one actually means, and using them with horizontal levels. - 12. Candle Context Inside Price Action
Why a candle only means something at a location, and the three candle facts that matter in a structural read.
Execution System
- 13. Multi-Timeframe Price Action
H4 for context, H1 for confirmation, M15 for the trigger: the top-down read in order. - 14. Entries: Break and Retest, Pullback Entry
The two entry models the course uses, the trigger each needs, and what invalidation looks like. - 15. Stops and Targets From Structure
Where the stop belongs beyond structure, how targets come from the next level, and the reward to risk check. - 16. The Final Price Action System
The routine, the pre-trade checklist and the journal that make the whole course one repeatable process.
How to use it with the live chart
Read a module, then open the free live XAUUSD chart and find one real example of what you just read. One, not ten. Mark the last three swing highs and lows, draw the one level that matters most, then watch how the next test of it behaves. The auto-drawn structure and levels on the chart are the same swings and zones this course teaches you to mark by hand, so you can check your reading against them while you learn to see structure in real time. If you already follow one of the other methods taught here, the SMC course, the ICT course, the VSA course or the Wyckoff course, treat this one as the base layer those methods sit on: all of them assume you can already read structure and levels cleanly.
FAQ
Is this course free?
Yes. Every module is a free article on this site. Read them in order and practise on the live chart by marking swings and levels and watching how each test resolves.
Do I need any paid tools or indicators?
No. Price action is read from candles alone. A chart that shows price on a few timeframes and lets you draw horizontal lines is enough. The live chart here already plots structure and levels if you want to check your own marking against it.
How is this different from the SMC and ICT courses?
Those methods add a layer of interpretation on top of structure: liquidity, imbalances, timing windows and specific entry models. This course is the layer underneath. It teaches you to mark swings, read structure, choose levels and judge tests without any of that vocabulary, which is why the other courses assume it. If you learn this first, the others become easier and more honest, because you can tell when a fancy name is just a level being tested.
Which timeframe is this for?
All of them, because structure is fractal. The course uses H4 for context, H1 for confirmation and M15 for the trigger, because that combination suits the way gold moves, but the same reading applies to the daily or the five-minute. Most drawn examples are H1 and H4.
Does price action make money by itself?
No. It is a reading framework that tells you where price is in relation to structure and how it has behaved at the levels that matter. That can improve where and when you act, but outcome depends on risk control, discipline and screen time. The execution stage spends as much effort on stops, sizing and routine as on entries for exactly that reason.
