Fibonacci for gold, from choosing the swing to a complete level-based execution system
Fibonacci levels are among the most used and most misused tools on a gold chart. Used well, they give you a repeatable way to say where a pullback is likely to end and where a move is likely to run out, so that entries, stops and targets all come from the same measurement. Used badly, they become a grid of lines drawn after the fact, one of which always seems to have worked. This course teaches the tool honestly: the ratios are widely watched reference points measured on a swing, not a law of the market, and a level only earns a trade when structure, timeframe and price action agree with it. Every idea is drawn on gold with the levels marked, and the course ends with a single routine, checklist and journal you can run on the live chart.
What this course is
A structured path from the first question, what a Fibonacci level actually is and why it sometimes holds, to a complete, rules-based way of using retracements and extensions on XAUUSD. It is not a list of ratios. Each module builds on the one before: you learn to choose the swing before you learn the levels, you learn where the levels fail before you learn to trade them, and you learn confirmation and risk before the final system puts it all together. The emphasis throughout is on two things that separate a working Fibonacci method from a decorated chart: the discipline of drawing the swing by rules you set in advance, and the requirement that a level sits on structure before it is allowed to become a trade.
How it is organised
Four stages. Foundations sets the honest framing and the mechanics: what the ratios are, how to choose the swing, what each retracement level tends to mean, and the deep 61.8 to 78.6 zone. Retracements turns pullback depth into information: shallow against deep pullbacks, why the tool breaks inside a range, confluence with support, resistance and higher-timeframe levels, and the multi-timeframe way of nesting a small leg inside a large one. Extensions and targets covers 127.2, 161.8 and 261.8, projections from an ABC move, and the candle and price action confirmation that turns a level into an entry. The Execution system makes it tradeable: the common mistakes, entries, stops and targets, risk and position sizing with level-based stops, and the full routine with a checklist and journal.
The full curriculum
Fifteen modules, each a drawn lesson on gold. The whole course is live, so every module is linked.
The course runs in four stages. Start at Module 1 even if you already draw Fibonacci levels, because most of the damage this tool does comes from habits picked up early: the wrong swing, the level treated as a trigger, the line without structure behind it. The whole course is published, so every module below is a live link.
Foundations
- 01. What Fibonacci Levels Are in Trading
Widely watched reference ratios drawn on a swing, not a law of the market. The honest framing the whole course rests on. - 02. Choosing the Swing
Rules for the anchor high and low, confirmed swings, which leg to measure and when to redraw. - 03. The Retracement Levels
23.6, 38.2, 50, 61.8 and 78.6: what a hold at each tends to say about the strength of the trend. - 04. The 61.8 to 78.6 Area
The deep pullback zone that traders call the golden pocket, explained without the mystique.
Retracements
- 05. Shallow versus Deep Pullbacks
Pullback depth as information: what shallow, medium and deep retracements say about momentum. - 06. Fibonacci in Trends versus Ranges
Why the tool needs an impulse leg, why it fails inside a range, and what to use instead. - 07. Confluence with Structure
Support and resistance, higher-timeframe levels and round numbers: a level without structure is just a line. - 08. Multi-Timeframe Fibonacci
The H4 leg sets the zone, the M15 leg times the entry: nested levels and how to resolve conflicts.
Extensions and Targets
- 09. Extensions: 127.2, 161.8 and 261.8
Measuring beyond the swing to set targets, and what reaching or missing an extension tells you. - 10. Projections from an ABC Move
Measure the A to B leg, project it from C: the equal-leg target and its 127.2 and 161.8 cousins. - 11. Candle and Price Action Confirmation
A level is a location, not a trigger. Rejection candles, structure shifts and retests that turn a level into a trade.
Execution System
- 12. Common Fibonacci Mistakes
The wrong swing, cherry-picking the level that worked, drawing after the fact, and the other habits that quietly ruin results. - 13. Entries, Stops and Targets
Limit versus confirmation entries, where a level-based stop belongs, and how to pick a target you can defend. - 14. Risk and Position Sizing
Level-based stops change distance on every trade, so size must change too: the arithmetic on gold. - 15. The Final Fibonacci System
The complete routine, the checklist and the journal that tie swing, level, confluence, confirmation and risk together.
How to use it with the live chart
Read a module, then open the free live XAUUSD chart and find one real example of what you just read. One, not ten. Mark the most recent impulse leg by the rules in Module 2, draw the levels, and then do nothing except watch how price treats them. The auto-drawn structure, support and resistance zones on the chart are exactly the confluence this course asks for in Module 7, so you can check whether your level sits on something or sits in empty space. If it is in empty space, you have just learned the most important lesson in the course without risking anything.
FAQ
Is this course free?
Yes. Every module is a free article on this site. Read them in order and practise on the live chart by drawing one leg per session and logging what price did at each level.
Do I need any paid tools or indicators?
No. A chart with a Fibonacci retracement and extension drawing tool is enough, and almost every charting platform includes both. The live chart here also draws structure and zones, which is the confluence the course asks you to look for before trusting a level.
Do Fibonacci levels really work, or is this numerology?
The ratios come from a simple number sequence and there is nothing mystical about them. What makes a level matter is that a great many traders and algorithms watch the same ratios on the same obvious swings, so orders cluster there, and that any trend pulls back somewhere in the region the ratios cover. The course is explicit that a level with no structure behind it is just a line, and it never claims a hit rate for any ratio.
Which timeframe is this for?
All of them, because a swing is a swing on any timeframe. Most examples use H4 and H1 for the leg and M15 for the entry, because that pairing is clearest on gold. Module 8 covers how to nest a lower-timeframe level inside a higher-timeframe zone.
Does Fibonacci trading guarantee profits?
No, and nothing in this course claims it does. Fibonacci is an educational framework for measuring pullbacks and targets. It can improve where you enter and where your stop and target sit, but outcome depends on risk control, discipline and screen time, which is why the execution stage spends as much time on stops, sizing and the journal as on entries.
